5 Year Celebration

This year marks the five year anniversary for BriarbookLane.com! It’s been quite a journey. This post will focus on the milestones and changes for Briarbook Lane as a whole. Elizabeth and Mary will post separately with their own personal journey.

The Website

BriarbookLane.com officially launched in  April 2020. You can read more about how the site came to be in our two year anniversary post.

In December 2021 we commissioned our custom logo! Still very much in love with it.

We started on Weebly, but after they merged with Square, we moved over to WordPress. That was the beginning of 2023.

Enchanted Garden Book Club

We started our fairytale retelling book club in 2020, and it continued through the end of 2022. Each quarter, Elizabeth and Mary would read a fairytale retelling, post their separate reviews, then discuss the book and compare it with the source tale.

We did three years of book club, reviewed and discussed 11 books. Sadly, in 2023 the book club went on hiatus due to Elizabeth’s chronic health issues. It may return in some form.

The Blog(s)

On Weebly we were able to have separate blogs. We had four blogs: one for general News, one for Mary, one for Elizabeth, and one shared Enchanted Garden Book Club Blog.

Once we moved to WordPress, we had to combine all the blogs into one! It was a crazy process merging them and figuring out how to keep them distinct. They are now distinguished by Categories.

Current Blog Stats
